Airbag fuses
I have a 1998 Durango and the airbag light is on steady. There are not any issues with the cruise control or the horn, so I think I ruled out the clockspring. I tried the easiest solution first and checked the fuses and found they were blown. I replaced them with the spare and the radio fuse and started the car fully expecting for the light to disappear, but of course it didnt. I checked the fuses again and they were blown. There has not been any maintenance done to the car except a new battery a few months ago. What is causing the fuses to blow and is this the likely source of the airbag light? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
It would be a short in the system somewhere. It could be the module, however I would just take it in to the dealer and have a diagnosis done on it. There is too much that can go wrong working with that stuff.
