Default Cold Air Intake Plastic Fasteners

All - new to to the Forum. Long time reader, 1st Post though. Many thx for all the help given here.

I have a stupid question on removing the cold air intake assembly from the passenger side. After pulling the air filter out, I discovered it has a center and corner fastener made out of plastic? Never seen anything like it (a hex head style plastic nut)? I tried turning/lifting gently it to no avail. Do I just pop it off like a push down fastener?

I do need to reassemble later so didn't want just force it. Parts store doesn't carry this style either. Nothing in the Service manual I could find on it. It probably would have cost 6 cents to make this a real nut/bolt...

Thx

Yes it should pull out like a push-in type christmas tree fastener. Don't be surprised if it cracks and breaks. Just replace it with a standard push in replacement of like size and shape.

IIRC, there are similar hex style plastic fasteners on the wiper cowl too.
