Default ABS/Brake light saga

Hello all,
After reading in the forums to fix my ABS/brake light problem. I am still no closer to getting the problem fixed. 02 Durango 5.? . I get a p0500 code, ABS?Brake light on, no spedo and stalls when coming to a stop. I replaced the rear sensor first, that didn't work. Then I replace the trans speed sensor, no luck there either. Any ideas? I guess I will drive it over to the shop and see if they can read ABS codes. Cause I am at a loss.
Thanks
Jack

Talked to a local garage yesterday, told me it could be 1 of 2 things. Either I have a wiring problem or it is the CAB unit. I'll keep ya'll posted I take it in for a code read tomorrow.

P0500 is Vehicle speed sensor. The one on the rear diff. The one on the trans is Output speed sensor.

Get back under and make sure the wiring going to it isn't rubbing on one of the parking brake lines or something. Also your tone ring on the diff could be broken. You can take a mirror and look down in the hole with the speed sensor out. It should be lined up right in the middle of the hole. Take a pocket screwdriver and poke at it to see if it moves...pry just a little.

P0500 No Vehicle Speed Sens Signal

I agree, but I would say drop the rear diff cover and have a look at the tone ring for missing teeth or a bend.

The CAB unit (the ABS module) could be the issue, but only a shop with an ABS computer can run the exact code to find the issue, that would be the dealer.

That is what I found out. Took it to our local Firestone and they didn't have the correct tool(NC). As much as I hate to it seems like dealer time. I just don't have that kind of coin.

I think it's $60 bucks for a basic diagnostic at the dealer.

Not bad, firestone would have charged 79.95, but since they didn't have the right tool, no charge
