Exclamation Potential Transmission Problems?

Hey fellas, the other night while making my 30 mile trek home from work, I noticed my transmission was kind of revving up on its own. It was hanging at 1600 and went up a couple hundred RPM. Its hard to explain really, but it was going, and then rev rev. I turned O/D off real quick and the RPMs shot up and so I quickly turned it back on. It fixed the problem and so far it hasnt happened again. Even with it only being a couple hundred RPMs I could definitely feel the slight power increase.

TPS is the most likely culprit. If that doesn't fix it do you still have your old tcm? Maybe put it back in and see if it goes away.

Well It hasn't come back yet. I will be going to the dealership soon to get a few electrical parts installed. Maybe I will have them update the TCM programming on my 02 Cherokee TCM, but to answer your question I do still have my old TCM. With the importance of the part, it isn't something I feel comfortable getting rid of.

I just priced one for about 40 bucks at a parts store, The TCM reconfiguration will run me $120.
