is the truck actually in 2wd? make a sharp turn on dry pavement and see if the front end binds up on you, if so then it is actually in 4wd and you need to crawl underneath and check the linkage, if it is NOT in 4wd then you probably have a bad range switch on the t-case which senses where the mechanical parts are positioned and as such what gear you are in.(4wd,2wd, exct)
