Default 03 Durango power windows issue

I have a 2003 Durango that i recently aquired in a package deal from a dealership. The rear passenger side window and the front driverside windows will not go up. I can hear the motor , and hear the mechanism trying to raise the front window but it stops as if it is obstructed after raising about 2 1/2 inches. The rear window, although i can heat the motor start and stop does not move the window glass at all. The motor seems to bind right away with only a brief period of actuating up and down. This doesn't seem to fit the other problems i have pulled up online with the power windows. Has anyone had this type of problem, and if you have what might i be able to do to remedy it? The other two windows work normally.

I haven't had this issue with my D but had similar issues with a Jeep Cherokee once.

My first guess is that something is binding the window in the track. It could be something simple like a toy that some kid slipped down through the wipers, or an internal bolt that sheared or came off. The window motor is designed to trip an internal breaker if it meets too much resistance.

Have you pulled the door panel yet to look around. Try unbolting the regulator from the window to check if you can manually pull the window up. If it binds, troubleshoot the track and the door frame.

If the window goes up ok, secure it in the upright position and at least you'll have the window closed. Then troubleshoot the window motor. Try watching the regulator while someone operates the window controls. If you can't see any obvious binding, I would do a junkyard swap for a new motor and regulator. When I did that on my 99 Cherokee, I think it only cost $20 at the yard.

Sounds like both motors are binding, correct?

If so yes there are a few members that have had issues with the track and yes they are available at the dealer or ebay. This might help you: https://dodgeforum.com/forum/1st-gen...e-durango.html

If nothing is happening then it could be the master drivers side switch, however this doesn't sound like your issue.
