Default 98 D Transfer case Parts

First id like to say that im brand new to the forum!

I purchased a 98 Durango for 900 bucks, knowing it had flaws of course, needed a transmission replaced which it came with, but my last problem im running into is the transfer case, it has a busted tailshaft housing along with a destroyed chain inside, i found a chain online for $320 bucks which is outrageous, but it was the ONLY 1 i found, does anyone here know where to get 1? maybe from a old jeep transfer case? i can goto my local pull-a-part and get a new transfer case for 55 bucks for a chain if i have to.

NP231DHD is my transfer case model.
Also its the 5.9 mag

I would do the pick and pull method and just get a whole case to swap out.

Also, Welcome to the board, stick around and read, learn and share.

Look at the back of the case and 3/4 the way up is round tab that tells you what case is in it. Go to a junk yard and find a new one, I would check 1997-1999 Dakotas and 1998-1999 Durangos.
