Default Valvoline NextGen? *General Question*

I went to the auto part store today to get stuff for an oil change in my Durango. I notice the Valvoline NextGen on the shelf. 50% refined oil. I was thinking of trying it out, but then thought I should do some research on it first. Its from Valvoline, I dont think it could be that bad. But at the same time, it COULD be a flop. I just wanted to know any thoughts on it, or anyone that has used it, what do you think.

its simply recycled/re-refined oil, if you believe them its not different from any other vavoline oil, its up to you, oils (like many other car parts) are like women, everyone has their favorite brand and dislikes everything else, i wouldnt use recycled oil myself, but from a quick google search it doesnt seem like you will have any problems with it.

In the DIY section, read the talk on oil....the engines are particular about good quality oils.IMO even though it's been cleaned up and mixed with new oil,it's still used oil...
Some may say it's ok but change it more often,no savings there.
Others here are going to tell you it's a bad idea....That thread on oil is long but it's really good.We have some people here that are or know chemical engineers and their input in the thread is spot on..You'll understand everything after reading it....

EDIT
I searched results from oil testing companies on blended oils and the next gen 50%..not impressed with test results....I wouldn't put a used recleaned oil in anything I wanted to keep...

The only thing I would use Valvoline NextGen in would be a clean out, I would not just use it. But I run Fully Synthetic so I won't be using it anyway, but if I did, again I would only put it in an old motor I was trying to clean up.

Hear ya there.I thought we used an off brand at the marina like Coastal when we get a sinker in.Gotta do like 4-5 oil changes to get the sea water out before we tear down and start repairs.I found out this morn the 55g drums we wholesale are Valvoline, wondered if it's their cheapest OR a 50% recycle blend...it just says 10-30 on the drum label...

EDIT; Turns out we have the msds on the oil drums at work..they are a blended50% recycle. Good thing we only use it in the yard equip and for engine clean outs...
