Default 99 D Liftgate Cylinder Help

Okay I like my D but there are a few different places where she's getting a little tired.
After all she does have over 178,000 on the odometer now.

One place is the liftgate cylinders.
They have become very tired and in those low winter temps they will no longer keep the gate up at all.
I'm not finding any parts stores that carry them anymore.

So where do I go and how do I verify that what I'm ordering is the proper size?

Anyone have a chart I can use for comparisons?
Or maybe one that will allow me to cross reference model numbers too?

I'm guessing that these are going to cost over $20 each not including any shipping charges.

Thanks for any help.

Radar,

Get them from the dealer. Make double sure they order the right ones for you. My first set came in were for a Caravan and not a Durango, thus had to be returned.

You will not likely find any aftermarket ones that will work. If the original factory ones lasted for 12 years and 178,000 miles, so will your replacements. Why risk fate by using something else other than factory replacement parts.

Good luck!

You can get them through Rock Auto also. Here is the link: http://www.rockauto.com/catalog/raframecatalog.php Put in your year of your Durango and all that stuff then go to Body-Exterior then Lift Support.

Thanks, I had forgotten all about Rock Auto.

I've used them before to get prices on other parts.

I will also check the dealer for prices too.
Sometimes you get surprised!

$76.95 Shipped for the pair, I have dealt with 1A Auto and they gave me great service. I purchased a pair of front hubs from them, they were the cheapest I could find but were great quality and came with a 2 year warranty.

EDIT: Rock Auto is cheaper so ignore me .
