Default How to sense park and neutral

I have 2003 dodge durango.
I'm installing a door poper on a k9 unit
I need to find a point in the vehicle that tells me when the vehicle is in park and neutral or when it is not in drive, reverse, first gear, second gear.
I think the neutral safety switch does this but I cannot find the wire that carries this signal to tap into ( +batt or gnd ).
Notes say use the Green/Gray or Black/white wire on plug C3 of the PCM on passenger side next to air cleaner. There is a green/gray but it does not change state with a change in the gear selector position.
thanks in advance for any help.

download the factory service manual for 2002 durangos from the link in the FAQ thread, this will have all the pinouts for the sensors and which wires do what.

also what you are looking for is called transmission range sensor, its on page 993 in the 2002 pdf, the wiring should be pretty similar to the 2003

it will be different depending on if you have the 4.7 or the 5.9 but the sensors are properly labeled in the document

Thumbs up Found it

I downloaded the manual and found it right on top of a connector on the PDC on the drivers side. It was a Black w/white tracer.
Thanks again for you help.
