What's this?
The arrow at the bottom shows where the hose goes, its literally just below where the pic stops, the other arrow shows the other hose that goes to the same thing.
Well, it told me I exceeded my quote on the when I tried to post the pic...

Ya. I can only have one picture on here too. I think that thing is the leak detection pump. My hoses are all out of order. I'm pretty sure that's where my hose goes, but there's nowhere else to put another hose on the LDP. I'm surprised the thing still runs with everything being screwy on it. Now I noticed a green wiring harness hanging off the back right side of the engine compartment by the air filter. I can't see anywhere to plug it into. If I can't figure everything out by tomorrow, I might just go to a used car lot and see if I can't look at an 02 Durango, maybe snap a few digital pictures under the hood.
I finally figured this thing out. If you look at shrpshtr's picture, you will notice that behind the throttle body hose there is a nipple with a black rubber cap on the end. The hose I had coming off there should've been on the throttle body. That hose goes down to a plastic "Y" connector, which plugs into the LDP. All the other hoses were capped off, and in the wrong place. The funny thing is that I passed emissions like this last week, and never got an evap code. If anybody ever needs full explanation of where each hose goes, I can type it up.
Ok. Here's the best description I can come up with. Please bear in mind I am not a technical writer. I could find almost no information on the correct placement of these hoses, so what I'm writing here is just an outline.
The nipple on the METAL throttle body connects a 3/8 hose (I used a 1/2 hose and clamped it to the throttle body, then put the 3/8 hose inside of that and clamped it. The 3/8 hose fits on there very tight and kept splitting on me.) to a plastic "Y" that sends two short hoses into the TOP two holes on the LDP (under fuses). There are 6 spots to put hoses on the LDP. 4 in the front and 2 in the rear. In the 2 in the rear you just put 2 ends of the same hose. About 4 inches long, shaped kinda like a "U".
The larger hose below and to the rear of the throttle body is 3/4 and usually has mesh around it. It hooks into the bottom of the green plastic "Y" that sits on the evaporation canister. There is a third nipple in the center of this green plastic valve. It is capped, and not used.
On the TOP of that green plastic "Y" there is a 3/8 hose. That hose then becomes 1/4(small hose slipped into a big hose) and is held by clips along the cowl wall below your wipers. It goes along the front of the cowl and hits a "T". One end of the "T" is capped off. The other part of the "T" joins another 1/4 line and the two are held together inside of a mesh sleeve. The line we are dealing with plugs into what I believe is the duty purge solenoid, which is a small can type thing to the front of your air filter box.
Ok. Next hose.
There is a 3/8 hose with a valve in the middle of it. Over that valve is a green screw on cap. One end of the hose goes behind the engine to..... I don't know where. The other end plugs into the BOTTOM RIGHT nipple on the LDP.
Finally, the bottom left LDP nipple hooks into a 1/2 hose. That hose also disappears behind the engine.
There are one, sometimes two, smaller nipples sticking out of the black plastic to the rear of the throttle body. Those should be capped. They are not used.
If someone can tell me how to upload more than one picture, I will put up photos with captions.

I think I should update here. My d kept stalling. I ended up putting a breather filter on the nipple behind the tb. I think someone screwed around with it somehow. I've looked at 5 different durangos and the vacuum lines are all the same. Mine won't run when it's hooked up correctly. At one point I drove it around with the evap stuff completely unhooked. It never did throw a code on me.
I have a couple questions. First, where is the vin on the engine block located? I think it might not be the original engine. Second, is it possible that somebody found a way to fiddle with the computer, so as to never throw an evap code?

it will take a number of full evap check cycles (full warm to cold cycles) to set a light (i would imagine a full tank of gas with them off before the light goes off)
unfortunately idk where the vin on the block is located, it might be listed in the 2002 service manual in the FAQ thread if you dl the pdf file
