4.7 chain tensioner
while im getting my engine ready to go in I figured I should look behind the timing cover and the tensioners to make sure there was no junk in them. I managed to get the screens out of the tensioners that are screening the oil going to the chain sprayers. had them all nice and clean and put back in plase with a drop of epoxy to hold them then managed to fubar one of the screens. they seem kind of stupid considering if the sprayer plugs your screwed and if the filter plugs your still screwed
on the 4.7 I pulled out of my Durango the sludge had busted through both of them. should it bother me if I put then tensioners in with one missing the screen or should I go on a search through my pile of bits to find another tensioner with a good screen to put in the good tensioner(I have more old tensioners somewhere)?
