Red face 2001 Ignition Switch replacement

Sooo I need to replace my ignition switch before i get stranded again like i did today! I was wondering how complicated of a job this is since i have no clue. Ive read my manual and it tells me how to get it out after you get through the plastic and other junk (few torx screws)... Not how to actually get to it if you will. Some people tell me i have to rip off the whole steering wheel, or just take the plastic off inbetween the wheel and dash. Also i know nothing about disabling airbags. I need it fixed like now.. and have no one to help!! Thanks!

http://www.mediafire.com/?2cg2hgim2zz

check page 1279

it has removal instructions for you, you only need to take off the plastic covers on the steering column, and then you can access everything

It was a piece of cake and only took me a hour after figuring it out. The manual is wrong.. tells you to do a bunch of stuff that doesnt need to be done! Take the plastic off.. find the pushpin. Thats it!! Yay Me!
