Fluid Capacities File

I used my time at work today for some good at least!

I took Master Techs Fluid Capacity Forum Post that is in the DIY thread and turned it into an easy to read PDF table. Take a look.

Very nice job.

Thanks tech, don't want to steal your table, but I was bored at work with access to tools to make it, so I decided to do it and transfer it all to quarts

master tech 11-25-2011 06:03 PM

Don't worry. Eveything I post is for all of the members to use.

nice table, i see just one error, you have the 4.7 listed as a v6, its not the 4.7 is a v8

TurboStixx 11-25-2011 07:26 PM

Not exactly sure why I did that, I will correct tomorrow and upload a new one!

My question is. Are the numbers for the 5.9 the same for the 5.2??? I ask because there is no mention of the 5.2...

Also you have the numbers a little mixed up.

Specifications Fluid Capacity-with new Filter
4.7L V6 6.0 Quarts (5.7L)
5.9L V8 5.0 Quarts (4.7L)

when you fix it you should swap the capacities to reflect what is across from the spec's. unless the 4.7 takes 1qrt more the the 5.9?

No Clue Dirt, BUT! I am making a Specifications/Sensor Location PDF as we speak for the 5.1, since i have the 5.2. Though I am showing on a 5.2 A service Tranny fluid fill is only 1.5 quarts. This can't be right!

I know the 4.7 does take about that much more than the 5.2, no clue on a 5.9

This is correct, all in all the transmission only holds a total of 6 quarts in it (not including the lines of course)... Here this is straight from Chrysler TechConnect:
