It Runs
still puttering along when I get time putting things back together but finally dropped the battery in and turned the key on & off a few times to prime the fuel system before turning it to start. turned over a couple times and I could here cylinders coming online and then it ran. little rough for a few seconds but to be expected with an empty fuel rail and an engine that hasn't run in 1+ years.
forgot to pick up my bolt kit, to bolt the exhaust to the manifolds, on my way home but found 2 bolts so one on each side to avoid pissing off the neigbours at 11:30 at night. on to driveshafts and changing the tranny filters and a few dozen little things to finish.
so 4.7 from a '00 Grand Cherokee into a '00 Durango. changed the oil pan
(pickup is identical), oil pressure sender, and the cam sensor in the right cylinder head because the one that was in the engine got fubared when the eng was removed. and they should be the same but I used the intake from the Durango just because I knew 100% it would be correct. I had the intake off make engine install and transmision bolt up easier, not sure if its possible to remove/install eng with the intake on.
with a little bit of luck I might get this thing on the road by christmas, definetly by new years.
