Default ABS inop but light is not on.

Ok, so I have suspected that the ABS didn't work before as I have been on some dirt and not gotten it to cycle. Now we have snow and ice and not once has the ABS activated. No light coming on but the light does work. Has no codes through my code checker. Never have I heard the pump cycle.

BACK STORY TO THE VEHICLE. It was a flood victim, very wet one. Only had to replace the radio amp, blower motor and fluid changes, nothing else has been an issue and it's been on the road for about a year now. 2003 4.7 4wd loaded and 66k miles on it.

Yes I know that the flood changes the game quite a bit, but at this point i am looking for the possible faults that could happen rendering the system inop without kicking the light on.

does it have 4 wheel abs??? if it does NOT have 4 wheel abs the chances of you hearing or feeling the abs kick in is very very low, take the VIN to the dealer and see

2wheel (rear only) abs was standard on these trucks

I would bet it is fine then.

Mine never came on either, but a few times it did on ice, but rarely. If the light comes on when you first turn the motor over then it is doing a self check, if it goes off then everything is fine, but if it stays on that means something is wrong.
