I think a few focused on the "dry pavement" comment. The issue is not road condition, but rather how fast you went.

My point is that I believe it is recommended to periodically cycle the transfer case through its positions to ensure the transmission fluid is equally dispersed. Just don't exceed recommended speeds. I can't recall what they are off-hand (someone else will know) but I am thinking 45 or 50 for 4HI.

Oh Yeah. I do agree you should put your vehicle demographics in also - maybe not for this post but for future ones..

The fluid circulates regardless because it has a pump inside the T-case, however keeping the linkage mobile and ensuring the shift motors are working is a good idea and I always shift them in and out occasionally.

Adressing a few comments:

I will post my vehicle info in my user profile (coulda swore I did that already).

And as far as my speed, I was going 45MPH. I dont think I hit the 50 mark.
