Default Valve Cover Gasket...does it matter?

Does it matter if you use a real gasket or gasket maker? (silicone)

General rule is if it came with a gasket, use a gasket.

Because i like to stir up trouble and go against the general public (hehe guys) Mine are siliconed down, of course they were done before I bought the truck, but they didn't believe in gaskets, everything I have removed since I bought the truck that was supposed to have a gasket, has had silicone and no gasket :-)
