Default Problems with my '99 Durango.

Vehicle info:
1999 Dodge Durango SLT 4x4 5.9L

SYMPTOMS:
Bouncing Idle between 500-1000rpm
Sometimes stalls in gear (red lights)
Won't shift from 1st to 2nd at full throttle, just slams at 3k and "jerks". I have to let off and let it shift then easily get back into it.

Coded just now and came up with MAP, ICM(High Voltage), TPS(High Voltage), Backup/nuetral safety switch and Coolant Temp Sensor. With that much "wrong" could it be my PCM failing, or is it really ALL of this stuff. Before I spend my first dime I was looking for insight from other owners that may have had the same issues before. I plan on doing it all myself minus programming the PCM if need be. Thanks for reading and any info you may be providing.

After reading....a lot...I found https://dodgeforum.com/forum/1st-gen...if-ya-can.html Now, do I clean the TB in place or remove it (special tools required)? Any special tools needed to remove the TPS? Again, any insight is greatly appreciated.

You can do either or i prefer to take it off and clean it real good as well as the iac. Its always good to clean the iac when doing the tb and remember to take that off and clean it. As for the tps i believe thats where your problem partly lies, could be on its way out. I think it uses either a t-20 or a t-25 torx bit to remove it. I think your finding where most of your prob is coming from. Hope it does fix most of it let us know what happens.

It was the PCM. The should-be-patented issue plaguing this truck. Water cooled it and it started right up. I didn't get the "no bus" error though.

Even though the PCM was the issue, it is always good to keep reminding yourself that the TPS and IAC sensors were a factor. I say this because the bouncing idle is attributed to the Throttle position sensor and cleaning your throttle body should be done every now and then to keep a clean, well running engine. Glad you had it sorted out!
