Default Shifting the trans

Ok, so I am new to this site, thought I had the same problem as the other thread I posted in, Daughter got stuck with her durango, then forced it out of park and it only starts in Neutral now. here is the reply I got in the other thread.

where would I find this part he is talking about?

download that file and go to page 1742 unfortunately the range sensor seems to be inside on the 45rfe trans.

Ok, another problem, on the freeway it is fine, but in the city and going up hills it is slipping real bad now, going to check it out today, she said the fluid level was fine, fluid has never been changed before so it gets done today, is this signs of the tranny needing a fluid change or the beginning of it going out completely?

did she check the fluid with the engine (and trans) hot? (drive it 15 miles to get there) and parked on a level surface witht he engine running and the trans in nuetral? if not it is possible that her reading was higher than it actually is.

I checked it in neutral and it is low, how do I know what trans is in it? it has the bigger V8 in it. Also I check the linkage and everything is tight, bit the lever just pops out of park into Reverse, would that fall under the recall being it is a 2000?
