Default Hood liner?

So I was wondering if I could just pull the inside hood liner? The black cotton crap on the inside of the hood?
It looks like crap and is impossible to clean...Ive heard of some rigs that get paint bubbles if you remove it, others are fine...

My 01 doesn't have the liner, I don't think removing it would cause a problem.

I took mine off a long time ago to clean, I cleaned it and never reinstalled it... Someday maybe.

The newer trucks (2001+) tend to not have them due to cost cutting methods by Chrysler.

Only time I notice steam is when I use the wiper washer on cold nights with the defrost on. Much easier to just spray of the inside of the hood without the liner I think.

I took mine out and my hood does steam to in the rain but it does look pretty bad *** haha. Mine was falling down and my alternator pulley was rubbing it causing a weird squeak

As long as ive had it the hood liner has been MIA. Dont know if it came that way or if my uncle took it off. My opinion is that it looks way better without it.

mine is still in good shape so I haven't bothered with it. Taking it down shouldn't hurt anything.

I heard someone say once that they stopped putting the light under the hood too, and that they even stopped painting the engine bay body color on some trucks.
