Well I have really screwed up the vehicle.
I was having intermittent flashing turn lights. So I figured the Multi Switch. I changed it because it was cheaper than the flasher. That did not fix the problem. Next I changed the flasher. Problem fixed, however now the brake lights are on all the time even when the key is out. Checking to see if it was a loose wire I blew the original flasher and it no longer works at all....
This is not good, after trolling the forums I decided to check the trailer setup and see if that was the problem. It was not the trailer brake or the Wiring Harness. Has any one had any experience with this at all?
As an update Pulling the
fuse/Relay in the Power Distribution block for the hazards turn lights does kill the lights. I also seem to be blowing the 10 amp fuse for Trailer 2.
So I am guessing that it is a short.
Disconnected the CTM, Multi function switch and it is none of that.
Disconected the Brake Switch and the lights are still on.
Any ideas?

Offhand, I'm not sure how the brake light switch works - is it normally a closed circuit... anyone?

If so - a bad switch or lacking switch might keep them on all the time. I hate problems like that, I had issues like that on my old Trans-AM - in that case, the switch would open the circuit - so technically the 'default' was brake lights on, unless the switch was pressed in (no foot on the pedal) and it would then open the circuit to shut the brake lights off.

This is a total guess, lol.

 

I have thought the same thing and I am trying to find the answer. So far, alot of hunches and gueses but no confirmation.
I guess the 13$ switch is the next thing to try.

Yeah, might be worth a try, and if it's good - you'll have a spare at least.

 

brake lights switch should be normal closed, if you unplug the switch you should have no brake lights. you dont open a switch to turn a light on. check your trailer light wiring for correct connection.
