On My wifes 2003 durango the parking lights come on when the brake is applied and off when you let up on the pedal . Any thoughts on what to check .

Have u checked all the fuses? Could be a bad ground or a wire short somewhere

 

Id say look for a bad ground in the taillights. The bulbs are dual filament for parking and brake and share a common ground. If there's a bad or no ground the power will back feed back through the parking light circuit. Also check any trailer plugs/connections for corrosion..
