Default Driver door power-window will not go down.

The power window on my door will not retract, but when I press the button down I do hear the clicking sound of the relay. The only window with this problem is the driver door, the other 3 windows go up and down with no problem. I am not experienced with this stuff so I was considering bringing it straight to a mechanic and paying for the part/service but I figured if the job is easy enough I could save a buck while learning myself some craft. Any suggestions?

I have yet to dig into durango window problems. Have changed out regulators and motors in towncars. Not sure if there is a relay in the door but there should be some type of regulator that is run by the motor which raises and lowers the window. Could be a broken regulator cable or stripped gears on the motor. You will need to pull the door panel and see what is or is not going on.

the main window control console rests on the driver door. Very easy to take the panel off the door to get access to the console. Basically unplug and plug back in each wiring harness and make sure it has a tight fit.

If you can hear the motor spinning, most likely, you have a snapped cable and will have to replace the entire assembly. I have not been able to find the assembly without the motor tho. Prices ranges around $50-$80 online.

Here is a link that will show you how to remove the door panel on the driver side.

Real simple just find a cheap regulator or the regulator/motor combo online and just use those instructions ^

Thank you for the advice guys, I'm just waiting for a nice sunny day to get outside and open up the door panel. I'll definitely keep you updated.

Yep, its the regulator. Did mine a month ago. What happens is all the cables on the regulator get worn and POP of the wheels and tracks. Just type in durango window regulator with motor on Google and you'll find some. Make sure you get the right year and door cuz they are different. I think mine was around 70 dollars. It took me 30 minutes and some head scratching but now that I've done it once I could do it again in 10 minutes. Or you couldb go to the dealer and pay them 100 dollars for 10 minutes of work . One time I asked a Mazda dealer how much it would cost to put in a new brake switch. they said about 100 dollars , so I ordered the switch online for 20 bucks and it took me less than 5 minutes to put it in........ ya just gotta love them auto stealerships. with a 6 pack of beer and enough head scrathin (mabey gotta scratch ur ***** too every once in a while) you can figure anything out.
