Default Front Suspension Question

2001 Durango 4WD

Well the old girl has a 160 K on her now and the front end is getting a bit loose.
I hear everyone talking about MOOG stuff being the way to go if $$ is no question. Unfortunately I have questions.

1. If you were going to do bushings and ball joints would you just by the whole control arm?

2. Never shopped Rock Auto before and have never seen the brand MEVOTECH or DORMAN before - what do you guys think about their parts? My guess is the price reflects the quality but I figured I would ask before ordering.

3. Tie rod ends or the whole tie rod?

I know that if I was going to keep it a long time I should go for the MOOG stuff but she is pretty long in the tooth at this point.

I don't really know much about those names, but one thing I do like is Auto Zone's Duralast parts. They come with lifetime warranties, are a decent price, and if they don't fit you can take em back and get the right ones in one day.

Replace the entire tie rod, which means inner and outer.

You can just buy the replacement Control arm and replace the entire thing, however that is more expensive.

Hydra - I've had pretty good luck with the DuraLast stuff as well.
I've never done ball joints before but from the looks of the part I don't see how it could be that difficult.

I'm gonna try the Dorman Control Arm as well.

The only negative is that the ball jont is riveted to it just like the OEM's were so it'll be a PITA when it comes time for replacement...

Dorman parts are good parts. I use Moog and Dorman (I work at Advance, and do not trust Autozone :-0 ) Rock auto has the whole control arm with bushing and ***** joints upper for 60 lower for 80
