2000 Durango Engine info needed
i got a crazy question. would it all be possible if someone went to a junk yard and pulled a crashed viper motor a v10. and tried to put it in a durango with 4wd. would it work? cuz theres a few yards in the buffallo area that got smashed vipers in em. just a silly question but thinking about it.

Hydra that is good info there. Yeah a v6 trying move a 5000lb suv gets crappy mpgs. That engine has to work so much harder. Ask a new ford ecoboost f150 owner what their actual fuel economy is, not much better than our 5.9l. At least in the durango's IDK what the ram guys get.

yea id probably have to get a costom built tranny and transfer case and a new rear end along with alot of other costly things. but hell yea. that would be one awesome 4x4. immaging doing a burn out in 4 wheel on pavement and having all 4 tires throwing smoke. youd be thrown in to the back of your seat.

Now the newer HEMI with MDS is a different animal!!!!!
My dad was in need of a new truck and didn't know all the options in 2008, but he knew I did, so I took the time to write down all the options he actually needed, then told him to add what he wanted, but keep everything I had. He did and that is one sick beast!
He bought a 2008 Ram in 4X4, Crew Cab, Short Bed, 3.92 gearing, 1500 (only truck with an optional MDS system), and HEMI with MDS. Now he wanted a long bed, but I knew it wouldn't fit in his garage so he bought the short and likes the fact that it does.
Anyway, he gets around 18 MPG's in a rural setup, and gets about 21 MPG's on the highway because the engine shuts down to a 4 cylinder, which in his area and what he was towing would be perfect for him. But in like 60 milliseconds that motor is back to a V8 and pullin your *** through the seat!.....Kinda fun!......

In fact the first time he actually got on the throttle because he pulled out in front of somebody accidentally he damn near floored it and everything on the dash ended up in his face and scared the crap right out of him!!!!
