Hey folks! I ran into a problem with my 01 Durango this morning and was hoping you guys could me again! While heading out this morning, I hit the hiway and within 2 mins the temp gauge was nearly pinned! I tried dumping some heat out, but it was only blowing cold air. I pulled over to let the engine cool down for a bit and she gave me a hard to getting started again. This process happened one more time limping it back home. My thought was the water pump, but I wanted to check here first for answers. Thanks in advance for your time and attention!
Sounds like you coolant it's either low or not circulating well. If it is full, you are looking at a bad water pump or clogged radiator. Does your fan have any back and forth play on it?
Thanks for the reply all! I ended up having a hole in one of the freeze plugs. All is well again! Thanks for the help! While having the radiator flushed, we found the leak!
Glad you got it taken care of. While we are on the subject I have a quick question myself. Is it normal when you unscrew the radiator cap to see no coolant in the hose?
