transmission probs?

Default transmission probs?

We just got back from the coast and ran our 99 durango hot for about 200 miles and when we got home our reverse was out.... Any suggestions?

When you say no reverse, do you mean it acts like neutral or does it feel like it is struggling or binding up? However in any event if you have the 44RE or the 46RE with a no reverse condition it has to be in one of three possibilities...One is the front clutch is not applying, two is the possibility of rear band failure and three the direct clutch in the OD housing has failed....

Thank you Brian, it sounds like it shifts into gear yet just revs when gas is pressed. I dont know ANY thing about working on cars, but my brother will know what your talking about I really appriciate it.
