Default Side project: Need opinions on M+S M/T tires

Ok guys, Ive got my side project going for this coming winter.
its a 93 sidekick. 2dr, 4x4, 5speed, ect.
I am throwing 30x9.5R15 on it but I need your thoughts on these tires for snow/ice with no studs added but will be sipped at les swab.
-Firestone Destination M/T
-pro comp M/T
-Yokohama Geolandar M/T
--*Hankook Dynapro M/T*

I am leaning more toward the Yokohama but let me know guys. The rig only weighs 2800lbs with a set of the 30's on. So weight isn't a big deal. Plus it puts 101hp, 110trq to the wheels so its zippy and gets 27 hwy mpg. 21mpg in town but I am hard on her...Just picked her up this week!

honestly i wouldnt spend money on siping myself as i have not seen any evidence to suggest it helps, even on friends cars in hs who swore by it

that said the firestones seem to be pretty popular im not familiar with any of them personally however the ones that are most popular must be so for a good reason

Is that what you run Duranged? Wish tirerack carried them...
Shrp:I wouldn't waste the money, I get it for free! My younger cus works at les swab and mounts my tires and sipes them for free. Wish I had my Tires on my D done...I don't know if it does anything really but if its free why not right?

bc sipping puts extra 'edges' on the tires, the tires wear from these edges, sipped tires wear out faster than non siped tires (my friends in hs w/ siped tires put new tires on alot more frequently than i ever have)

They only wear you tires out faster if you "spin out" a lot. I use siped tires here in idaho because they help a lot with traction on icy roads. I have done siped and unsiped and have noticed a big difference on ice.

it helps on ice and snow because the siping holds water and snow/ice thus giving better traction cause the snow and ice grip to the snow and ice in the small sipes. at least thats the theory... seems to work pretty well

idk all the cars i have driven w/ siped tires have performed the same or worse than they did w/o the sipes, i would never do it myself, a good all terrain or snow tire (softer rubber for winter) with some common sense is all yous hould need.

Oh sharp, common sense? I sold that for gas money for the D!
I think it works better on smaller cars/suv's, Not for bigger 5000lbs rigs. But that is just me.

oh wait that could happen especially if gas get higher. Siping will help with ice traction assuming the tire was designed with the sipes in it like a snow tire. A cheaper option is go get some sand bags or the best option is studding.
