cold engine, rough idle, backfires??
Hi guys.
My 1998 5.2 is getting me down.
The truck idles really rough on cold starts.If you give it fuel, the rpms will go up, to a point then it will back fire and the rmps will drop. then you can here the intake hiss. Then the rpms will settle but the motor will still have a weird sound. It almost seems to be worse wet, but im not sure.
after 5 minutes of this the truck runs fine and drives good
i installed a new fuel pump last month becasue that quite. So that "should" be good. In the last 2 weeks ive changed the plugs, wire cap and rotor button. even the coil and it still does it.
