depends where you get it at.... i have seen them as cheap as $900 and as expensive as $2000... How many miles are on the truck?? i would be willing to bet with help from a few on here the motor could be saved..

The engines in these trucks are known to be almost bullet proof.. so unless someone did some extreme abuse to this truck the internals of the engine should be good and its probably just something less expensive that needs fixed.... just my

it also depends on which of the 3 engine available in that year is in the truck the 4.7 is expensive, the 5.2 or 5.9 can be found much cheaper

Wow really? Is that mostly because the 5.2 and the 5.9 are more popular in the half ton trucks?

its bc the 5.2 and 5.9 have been around for a while so there are alot more of them around, also the 4.7 has gone through a couple of changes in its relatively short life so finding one that is a drop in fit can be more difficult.
