Default Elec fan wires are getting hot

today i noticed my elec fan was not working found out the pins in the plug at the elec fan where spead and plug looked half blackish melted

so i replaced plug with a new pig tail plug. turned on a/c for elec fan will turn on when a/c on fans on all the time and at the plug wiring for fan is getting really hot like cant touch it. is that normal? or do i have a problem is the fan starting to die and pulling to much amps?

its a 2001 durango 4.7L

the electric radiator fan should only run under the following conditions,

1) engine temp over 200 (i think, mine will come on if i sit and idle in traffic for too long)
2) a/c is on.

sounds like it is now functioning correctly, im not sure about the wires getting too hot, however if it was drawing too much current i would expect the fuse to blow.

You could resistance check your wires to make sure they are allowing proper electrical flow. They should have no resistance but with time the little strands may have started to break inside.
