I have a 99 Durango 5.2 that recently had a PCM problem. I replaced it with a PCM from a salvaged 98, the beginning part numbers on both PCM's matched and after replacement my Durango runs very well. I was told that more than likely some thing in the truck would not work properly, after days of driving and not finding anything that didn't work on my Durango, I did find that the cruise control no longer works, even touching the on off button does nothing now, is this directly from changing the PCM? And will having it reprogrammed through a dodge dealer fix this issue, is there a way around getting it reprogrammed? I know the cruise worked fine before but with all the problems I was having and all the work I did to the truck to trouble shoot down to the PCM I don't know if I might have done something myself that has caused the cruise to stop working. Any help or advise would be appreciated.

 

I would strongly advise you to get the PCM flashed with your correct VIN..
