Default Still rattles!!!Suggestions Please

I just spent the last two days replacing the upper and lower ball joints and the outer tie rod ends. New shocks all the way around. The front wheel

bearings were good and the bushings on the controls arms are good. The rattle seams like I can feel it in the steering wheel itself. What am I missing

here? Is there something that needs replacing there? Thank you

Rattle how? Like slack in the steering ? Or rattle while driving. Check the steering shaft. Gearbox might be bad. Check the sway bar bushings. torque everything?

Iirc the 2000+ were rack and pinion and the 98-99 were steering boxes, just for clarification on what we are dealing with here.

Sorry guys. My Durango is a 2003 4x4 4.7. The rattle is while I'm driving like if I go over some bumps. If I'm just driving on smooth pavement it feels normal.

When I hit the bumps it's like I can feel it somewhere between the steering wheel and the bottom of the vehicle. Would getting the vehicle a front end

alignment "tighten" anything up?

P.S I did torque everything also

My Durango is a 2003 4.7 4x4 as well. Im having this SAME problem, Feel it in the steering wheel when going over bumps. I havent looked into this at all yet except seeing the u-joints looking rusted. Wasnt sure how involved it would be to fix. Looking forward to what you find out, or if anyone else has experienced this.

Also check the CV axles for wear. I had a shimmy in the wheel due to one of them being broken and causing a wobble in the wheel. once i took the bad ones out it was fine and now that the new ones are it it is much better and tighter feel in the wheel. but that's just my .
