Default 4.7 L No Start Electrical Issue

Ok, so whe wife drives to town this morning, goes in to the store, comes out, and it won`t start. Won`t crank either. She got a jump, and it fired right up. Drove it home, and it`s doing some real weird stuff that it`s never done before. When I turn the key to start, all I get is a 'click' then nothing. All the dash lights go dead, interior lights....everything. And there`s what seems like a woodpecker noise emitting from around behind the glove box area when I shut the key off.

Flip the key on, and there`s a noise coming from the fusebox under the hood behind the battery, or in that general area. As soon as the noise stops (30 seconds or so) the lights and guages all come back on. Bad relay, maybe? Can`t find any bad connections, but the starter wants to drag once in awhile like it`s not getting enough power.

I never had any problems until I hooked up subs and an amp, but it`s out of line now, so that potential problem is eliminated for the moment. Any idea on where to start? (No pun intended...)

Can test the relay by swapping the relays out in the fuse box and see if the problem continues. Do you have a security system installed?

I've had the same problem, it was the battery.

Nothing other than the factory security system. Turns out that it was a bad connection that I couldn`t see. Upon taking off the battery connector from the cable, the cable end was all white, so a good cleaning, and she fires right up. Thanks for the help guys!!!
