Replaced blower motor resistor. Pics inside!
As common as we change our underwear, we know we'll have to live with swapping this darn transistor almost every 5 years (I know I changed mine 5 years ago and now have to change it again) Anyway, last week setting number 2 on the blower gave up. So I opted to change the resistor again. I guess this is the mode I usually use about 90% of the time. Here's some pics.
Tools used: 8mm socket, extension, wrench

Location of the resistor is just underneath the glove compartment

Here's the old resistor still attached to wiring harness

Burnt terminal

Old resistor left, new one on right.

Who ever designed these should have done away with these useless tabs.

Off they go!

Done in about 15 minutes. And all blower speeds work.
