Default 99 With Odd Brake Problem

I couldn't find a problem exactly like mine doing a search so I thought I would run this by you folks to see if it's been a problem for others.
I have a 4x4 5.9 SLT Durango w/131K mi. that when it gets hot outside or perhaps more like under the hood the "ABS and Brake" lights on the dash will come on when applying the brake.
At that point the ABS does not work but the brakes work fine otherwise.
The problem was almost constant when the outside temp was 90ish.
But now with the mornings a cooler 65 to 70 the lights don't come on until about 30 minutes into my 40 minute commute to work.
My guess is it has to do with heat under the hood.
Once it happens, I can turn off the key and start it back up and the lights are off.
As soon as I touch the brake the dash lights come on.
All the brake pads and shoes have plenty of life left.
Fluid level is full.
There are no speedometer irregularities.
The cruise control works fine at all speeds.

Any ideas would be welcome,
Thanks,
Ozzie

Sounds like a front ABS sensor to me. As the fluid gets warm and starts to move maybe some piece of foreign material is getting in the way of the sensor. Try having the fluid replaced in all the lines and master cylinder. It is very cheap and you need to do it anyway with 131K miles on it. Last time I had it done it cost me $20.

Thanks for the reply.
Brake fluid was replaced at 95k.
Does it still sound like a Front ABS sensor?
Are they testable and are they easy to replace?
Where are they located?

Here's another tidbit.
When the lights come on after things warm up, it takes no more than just a touch of the brake pedal to get the dash lights to come on.
I would say it's at the moment the brake lights come on before any braking action takes place.
