honestly, id say that you overpaid some, but not terribly so, if it was in mint condition it should have gone for around $6000, take off some for any damage or non working features

They wanted around $8900 for it. Has a clean title but i am sure the grill and lf front door has been painted. Has some scratches, dents on it. The lot replaced the rack and pinion and water pump after we for it and before we picked it up 1 window regulator. Said it was going to cost them $750.00

Paid $7,500 for my fully loaded 01 SLT+ with 120K on it last Dec. A bit on the high end, but the condition justified it in my eyes. So I'd say you did OK as long as you're happy with it.

Honestly it depends on the area that you live in, where you buying it and what the price of gas is at the time.

Around here its been a long time since i seen a first gen priced over 5K (excluding a few idiots that feel there R/T is worth 10k+) Usually you can find a private party sale for cheaper than a dealer sale.

Personally, i paid $3500 for my D... with tax, tags and all the other state BS fees it came to $4000 even. Recently i have seen 03's with the people asking 3-4k for it.

I have also noticed locally when the price of gas creeps upward to 4.00 a gal you get a few people ever willing to part with there trucks...

I just got a 03 R/T with 125000km (77000 miles) for $6000.00, but I am in Canada..... so by the the time i will put it on the raod with all the stupid taxes and fees here it will be $1000000 !!!
But everything seems to work on it, no accidents and in great shape.

I jokingly said a Million dollars, but it's actually about $2300 in fees and taxes. Still messed up though. You have to pay sale taxes on things that taxes were paid on already, and just to stick it to you, they say "you have to pay" on how much the truck is worth in their over-inflated "value" book, not how much i paid for it !!! they said the truck is worth between $10500 -11000.
