transmission swapping advice
so my durango transmission finally went out, its a 2000 5.2L v8 magnum with 192,XXX miles 2wd the transmission is 46re and i was wondering if i can get a transmission from the 5.9 models and if it matters if its 2wd or 4x4

the 5.2 came with the 44re, the 5.9 came with the 46re, they will both bolt up to either engine,
as to 4wd versus 2wd it will only affect the output connection, i would try and find one with the same driveline as your truck to avoid the issue, but if you get the same trans that you have you can swap it over no problem im not sure if it will swap from a 44 to a 46
