Extremely frustrating speed sensor
My speedometer quit working and my abs and brake light stayed on just like everyone else's Durango. So I replaced the speed sensor. Lights went out and speedometer works and car was tracking miles again. Recently I noticed I looked at my odometer and the trip to my house from the store was shorter than what it actually is. Trip meter said 3.1 instead of 4.1 miles. then once I got to my buddies house I used my speedometer on my gps and it tracked 5 miles from my house to his. my odometer said it was for miles. So every 5 miles i drive, it isn't tracking a mile. And I have to use mileage for work cuz I drive for work. So I replaced the part again and it still isnt tracking miles. I am extremely frusterated and dont care about typos.
Please help me with any knowlegde anyone has on theses Durangos.... sigh...

Same stock size tires. here is a full breakdown now that I am not pissed of at it for the moment.
ABS and brake light came one and spedometer quit working. Speedometer would only work above 30 then it wold jump up to there. wouldn't track miles on the car until I hit 30. So all the time i drove under 30mph It didn't track those miles.
I replaced the rear differential speed sensor. ABS and brake light went out. Spedomemter started working. and it would track miles properly (I believe it did anyway) but It was tracking miles.
Over the past month after replacing the speed sensor, the abs and brake light would come on and the speedometer would quit working at random times. It would maybe last 5 minutes then everything would work again. Sometimes it would come on randomly through a trip to the store and then be working again by the time I got there.
So then a few days ago I noticed the trip to my house was shorter than it was and i was sick of the light randomly coming on again and agian. My trip meter and odometer said from the store to my house was 3.1 miles but really it is 4.1 miles. and once I got to my buddies house, which is 5 miles away, my car only tracked 4 miles.
So i replaced the speed sensor again, It is doing the same things.
I use my car for work. I get paid mileage. After doing the math I am losing quite a it of money since it is only tracking part of the miles I am driving...
What does this sound like? Please help

There's another sensor in the transmission that works in ways with that same system. I wonder if maybe that sensor was failing too it might affect the symptoms you're seeing even by replacing the rear end sensor.
i would replace the output speed sensor on the transmission, it controls speedometer output in conjunction with the rear wheel speed sensor

Alright everyone so this is crazy and I need opinions. I feel slightly stupid. So I do not have stock tires, but at the same time I do...
On my Durango I currently have 31x10.5R15.
My door jamb sticker as well as the dealership(based on my vin) says that my model takes a P235/75R15 stock size tire.
So obviously I am not riding on stock tires. So I go to tirerack.com and plug in 1999 dodge durango and look what pops up. Picture attached. Apparently Durangos come stock with one of two sizes. the 31x10.5R15 or the P235/75R15. Now how weird of a coincidence is that that I have the "other" stock size for a Durango???
So technically I have a stock size tire for a Durango, but for my specific model I have the wrong size on. I wonder if someone before me decided to get new tires and a tire shop said that those were stock size and based it on a differnt model Durango. So what do you guys think?
Is this causing my spedometer to track improperly?
I have oversize tires I guess, but technically I don't. Opinions?
And also now thinking back on it I am not sure if I knew the odomoter was working properly when I got it. I just thought it was.
How do I fix the spedometer being off? and fix it not tracking the right amount of miles?
