Default 1st Durango

I have always like the Durango, but never had a need for one...

Well the wife she got a nice electronics repair job, and will need a DD.
So I went looking for a used D... Found a 2000 that was a fleet vehicle - with all the maintenance records... The engine was blown at 217,000 miles, and a replacement 80,000 mile engine was dropped in. She runs great, and I don't think the rear seat have ever had more than a box sit on them...

She does have a rough idle at first start up, but once warm runs fantastic.

What are the differences between the 4.7 and the 5.2 - with the re-power I am not sure what engine is in there.

I filled her to the brim... took 22 gal, reset the trip meter and have driven less than a half a tank, and I am showing 197 miles... What is a decent MPG to expect?

I am very happy with my purchase... and the insurance is cheap to boot...

take a picture of the engine and we will tell you what engine it is

i have the 4.7 i get btwn 18-20 on the highway and 14-17 around town depending on season and how much stop and go driving i do, 5.2 is less efficient and 5.9 is even less so

I got the # of the place that put it in...

It was 4.7l from a wrecked 2001 with 79,000 miles on it...

Just cleaned the IAS, and the throttle body - rough idle is gone...

Thanks to the folks who shared the information in the DIY section...
