Default HELP! wiring nightmare

Hey guys ive got a 2000 Durango SLT and it seems to be quite a wiring nightmare. So i was getting charge warning intermittantly so un hooked stereo and it worked for a bit until one night it quit and never started again.... So after running some dvom tests i went ahead and did the voltage regulator mod bought voltage reg brand new from napa and hooked it all up using wiring commin from 40 amp ign fuse as my switched ignition 12v source and wiring into back of my denso alt.. Grounded voltage reg to battery and started it up. Same problem.... So tried a different battery sure enough stayed running. So went to store and bought 800 cca optima red top for it and it did a little better but still after driving up block and turning on stereo bang charge light on again. Going to try alternator here in the AM as it was a order in part. But if this doesnt work then what do i do? So sick of this truck ive missed 3 days of work and spent the past 48 hours no sleep trying to fix the p.o.s. Anyone have any other ideas as to why this thing still is not working? As im almost positive i didnt blow pcm battery and alternator all at the sametime. And not to mention i can continue apending money like this. Truck still needs breaks and suspension for winter but thanks to the $600 charging system and in my opinion poor set up i dont think suspensions getting done this year. Anyways open to all suggestions and prev experience. Sorry for novel/rant and thanks in advance for any help

Did you try cleaning the cables? Mine were corroded a couple inches back inside the wire. Check grounds. Pull them off and get them down to bare metal. Check alternator wires. Maybe broke, mine was right at the alternator. Negative cable would be next on list to replace because it's most likely corroded.

All fixed gave up with external vr since everyone says it can be done but has no good description of how to do it. And when hooked up and tested properly it still did not produce anywhere near 14.5V. Bought new pcm, alternator and battery. Blew close to $100 trying to do an external vr. So for anyone who is going to try to do an external vr dont bother waste of time and money. Unless u have a part # and know exactly which wore under the hood to use for 12v key and which one for ground etc dont attempt. If need be there will probably be an electronic repair specialist in your city that will repair vr in your ecu for under 150 and then you can get it reflashed for $50 by most performance or car stereo shops. So i got a refurbished and updated pcm and got to choose shift patterns etc from what ever vehicle i wanted yeeehaw problem fixed and a little more ***** for 1/3 the cost of a new pcm!
