Default PCM Gremlins '99 Durango?

We have a '99 Durango with the 4.7L. Several years ago we had the PCM replaced from a dealer when the car just shut down in the middle of traffic. We have had it replaced once since then for same issue (though the second was aftermarket). Recently I experienced the same issue. The thing just shuts down....replaced the crank sensor and a reflashed PCM. Seemed to be fine for a short time, but the first day over 80 degrees it shut down again. I think I saw the 'no Bus' when it shut down on me, but my wife usually drives it and the issue has happened more than once with her. She is busy with two handfuls of wheel when it shuts down on her, so she is unsure if she gets a 'No Bus'.

The odd part seems to be heat related. It shuts down and when the ignition switch is turned to the on position I see all the lights, except 'Check Engine'. During that period of time, it will crank, but not fire. After it cools down for 10 minutes or so and I get the check engine light, it will start back up and run like normal.
Any thoughts?

1) you need to clarify your information some, you do NOT have a 1999 Durango with a 4.7, the 4.7 was not available until 2000 in the durango

2) it sounds to me like an overheating PCM, it will likely need to be replaced, you can test this by putting a bag of ice on the PCM to see if that will get the truck running quicker, if it does you have your confirmation

1. I have a 5.2L
2. I have replaced the PCM a couple times, I guess I
Just don't understand how/why it can continue to
overheat.

honestly if you keep frying PCMs there is something wrong in the wiring harness, or you keep getting bad ones, personally i tend to lean towards a problem in the wire harness only way to find it is to start tracing wires

Hello. I have a 1999 5.2l V8 Magnum Dodge Durango and i bought it used from a friend of a friend. Anyways i had a similar event when it just shutdown out of nowhere but it never started again after that. What do you guys think it is? My fuel gauge does not work, my airbag and abs light comes on and also the check engine light. It will crank all day but wont start and i get the words no bu5 after the odometer flashes 4 times. Any suggestions?
