2002 Durango Electrical help
hello,
helping a neighbor with his 2002 Dodge Durango. It was running poorly. It would run ok for 10 mins then shut off. His kid drove it 400 miles this way to get home. there were four times this same thing happened, each time it was raining.
the original error codes were tps, oil pressure and another code I forget.
I told him it was probably the computer was bad since the codes were all over the place. We took the old one out, it was corroded inside and we cleaned it off with acetone and let it dry. when we put it back in, the key would not turn the started.
We went and bought a used computer from ebay. It is here now, and we installed it.
The engine will not turn over with the key. Our codes now are
P0513 Immobilizer
P0522 Oil Pressure Sensor
P0123 TPS Input High
P0633 Key not programmed.
I am guessing I need to send the computer and the key out to have them matched? Where would I get this done reasonably?
Should the new computer throw codes before the engine has cranked?
Any guidance is appreciated.
