Just got My Durango
hey guys, My father just gave we his 98 durango 5.9 and i just thought it would be a good idea to join this forum. He bought it brand new from the dealer. Well he just got his dream car and passed the durango onto me. The only mods he did, were the front grill and pia fog lights. No engine mods, or any performance mods. The car has 60,000 miles on it and looks and runs like its brand new.
The only thing i dont like about it ,is that its one of the roughest riding cars ive ever driven. Is there any way I can chage this. Its very annoying, and you get really tired after driving it, since the ride is so rough.
I am looking into lifting it. Can lifting it make the car ride a little smoother?
Thanks alot, Mike M.

No lifting won't make it somoother and in fact makes it worse. Try different shocks or get Rancho RSX9000 shocks and the in cabin remote for the adjustments. These are adjustible shocks so you can tune the ride from inside. Also that stiff ride on road is very nice off road, I had my 2000 in the dirt this weekend and it performed quite well (save possibly eating a rock through the radiator). If you don't have a 4x4 then try suspension mods if it is a 4x then the Ranchop idea works or try it off road.
Another thing that could be causing your rough ride
is the tires. LT tires, mud and snow, are a rougher riding
tire. If your serious about getting it smoother, get "P"
rated , highway tires, theres a noticable difference.
