Default 2000 Durango Power Steering Pump R&R ?

Having a leak on our '00 so I changed the hoses but I believe it's leaking out of the front (pulley shaft). Doesn't the pulley have to be pressed off & on the new pump? I'm trying to figure out how to get the pump off and it looks like the mounting bracket has to come off too? Any advise? Thanks, Robert.

2000 D is a Gen1. This is the Gen2 section.

As for answers, get the tool from AutoZone in their rental area. My advice, replace pump with a stocker. The AZ aftermarket isn't quite as good at slow parking lot maneuverers.

Indy, do you have a part number or a web site for looking up Stocker parts? I can't seem to find a stocker power steering pump online. The one on my Shelby is whining pretty bad but not leaking.

I bought a PS pump from NAPA, just need to borrow a pulley puller/installer tool. The new/rebuilt pump cost 121.17 before core refund (new unit 56.99 and the core will get a credit of 56.25). Hahahah. Strange how the pump can't be taken off without the bracket. Designed to thwart off DIY'ers but I'm determined. Thanks, Robert.

Done! I'm now a pro. Changed the pump and hoses. Very important issue when changing out the pulley: measure from the front of the pulley to the front of the bracket, this will ensure the pulley is oriented as oem, or with the other pulleys when it's pressed on the new pump, don't want the belt to wear prematurely.

20durango00 did you have to get the air out of the line?
I think I need to replace my pump and was wondering if anyone had any tips on how to do it.

This info already is very helpful.
