2000 Dodge Durango 4x4 5.9L P1389 no voltage at pcm from asd relay
Everyone,
Hello this is my first time on this forum and I am in
desperate need of assistance. I am working on a 2000 Dodge
Durango SLT 4x4 5.9L. As stated in the title I am getting a
p1389 code no voltage at pcm from asd realy. So far this is
what I have tested and know.
1. Pump whines when ignition is on. 2. fuel rail only
squirts a small burst and then dies (no constant stream) 3.
Will start and run with starter fluid and stay running. 4.
When 12v is jumped at asd relay from #30 to #87 there is
power at the C3 terminal at pin#12 and there is some melting
at the very end of C3 plug but it doesn't look bad enough to
disrupt the connection. 5. When it is running after using
starter fluid, acceleration is horrible but engine is
smooth. 6. Throttle Body Sensor is receiving 5v at the
(purple w/white tracer) wire. 7. Alternator is less than 12v
or only what the battery is testing at. checked charging
system at main post on alternator and at positive and
negative battery terminals, but when I pulled it out and
hooked it up it passed with flying colors. 8. Brand new
battery. 9. PCM has been rebuilt and is original. 10. All
fuses and relays seem to be good. 11. I have switched all of
the relays around to no avail. 12. There is no other codes
except for the p1389. 13. I still need to check the
Crankshaft position sensor, and the MAP sensor. 14. The fuel
filter is in the fuel tank. (no inline filter) 15. All the
gauges work on the dash and there is no flashing security
light. 16. After a few minuets of driving the Alternator
gauge stops working. 17. All ground wires I have inspected
look good. No visible break in wires or corrosion. The only
thing I don't see that may be a problem is no visible
grounding strap from the engine to the frame.
All of this points me in many directions. Stock security
system affecting the asd relay? The ASD is used to prevent
theft but if this is the case why would I have spark and no
fuel pressure? shouldn't I be missing both?
Another direction points me in is changing the Alternator,
CPS sensor, Fuel pump, Fuel filter.
can any one point me in a good direction?
Thanks for your time, any help will be appreciated.
