**Clunk** in the front end
I have a 1999 V8 Durango. I bought it used and so far it's just been minor maintenance issues. I took it in to Mr. Tire to get it aligned and they told me that they tried to align it but that there was too much rust build between the 2 pieces that they would adjust. They didn't charge me for the alignment but, now i have a "clunk/slipping" noise whenever I hit the brakes. Also, when i turn it sounds like the whole front end suspension is going to fly off. HHHEEELLLLPPPPP!!!!!!!
chances are they tried to loosen some bolts to do the adjustment and they broke free a bunch of rust and when they went to tighten em up they were ceased and wouldnt budge. so my best bet is you have loose control arms due to there shotty ability of doing an adjustment.
i would call a different garage and tell them what happened at the other garage and inform them of your problems. and ask if what they did could have caused these problems. and if so if that garage would be responsible for fixing the problem. and ask if you took it in to them if they could find out what happened.
im not sure how things work where your from, but in new york where im from that is the case.
if they say yes, that garage that tried to do your allignment would have to pay for it to be fixed at the garage that you took it to.
but it sounds to me like you have a loose front end due to that garrage, and personally with the right tools that garrage should have been able to do it, even though the bolts were rusty. i used to have an 83 blazer and almost all the suspension bolts were hard core rusted, but my buddy at the time had a garrage and i had him do my allignment, with some heat and some penitrating oil he got the job done right the 1st time.
which is exactly what that garrage should have done!!!

I had something like that happen when my rotars were replaced one year. They had put the calipers on incorrectly causing them to shift around on top of the rotar and make terrible noises when I turned. I'm not sure if they would need to take off the calipers to do an alignment though.
