Car Computer Exchange PCM woes
2002 Durango 5.9 R/T. PCM died on road trip. Obtained reman. from Imperial Car Computer Exchange (carcomputerexchange.XXX). Supposedly flashed to my mileage and vin number. Long story short, it did not work. Company supposedly re-programed 2 times and it still does not work. Not getting switching signal to the coil, so no spark
I replaced the crankshaft and camshaft position sensors--still no spark. Car Computer Exchange (CCE) refused to honor warranty claiming there must be some other issue causing the problem.
I purchased and installed an OEM Mopar remanufactured PCM. I had the Durango towed to a dealer who flashed the PCM. Durango started immediately.
CCE still argues that it sent 3 working PCMs. I have since found the applicable BBB report on CCE, which has a D rating.
So I give a specific warning not to trust CCE if you have a PCM failure and a general word of advice to check applicable BBB on any online company on significant sales.
Sorry about the rant but I feel this is important information to get out there.
