Default HID headlight problems

I have a 99 Durango and I've had my 8000k hid kit for over a year now and only thing that has gone wrong is one bulb burned out but was replaced under warranty and some flickering from the passenger side bulb. So today I decided to find out why, I swapped the bulbs, ballasts, and I even redid the grounds and replaced the entire relay harness with one they sent me with the new bulb. The flicker reduced but is still there. I went to radioshack and purchesed 2 in-line 4700uf capacitor, I've read about this same capacitor eliminating the flicker, and i turned on my headlights and looked at my dash and my blight indicator was on so I pulled the lever back to switch to what I thought was low beam but the light got brighter. The bulbs didn't swith between beams either. On low beam the indicator bulb was at half brightness and high beam it was normal, I rechecked the connections under the hood again and nothing was unhooked or anything. I unhooked the connectors for the solenoids in each bulb and the indicator functioned properly. Is my harness efed up?

Sounds like a problem with the harness. By the way you should drop down to at least 6000k if you want good light. 4300k is the brightest, 5000k is still very bright, but is pure white, 6000k is a bit dimmer but has a hint of blue, 8000k is significantly dimmer.

I'm going to have to pull apart the electrical tape on the harness and do some checking. I originally had 6000k but i decided i wanted a little more blue light so i went with the 8000k. I have 55w so they are plenty bright for me, I did aim my headlights down to help opposing traffic.
